A new spiritual attraction has been added for devotees in the holy city of Haridwar. The consecration (*Pran Pratishtha*) of a massive *Parad Shivling* (mercury Shivling) weighing 5,211 kilograms was performed amidst Vedic chanting and religious rituals at the Shri Sai Shiv Ganga Dham, located near the Bahadrabad toll plaza. Many saints, seers, and devotees from across the country participated in the event.
According to the Dham’s management, this mercury Shivling holds special significance due to its size and weight. It has already been recorded in the Limca Book of Records and the Asian Book of Records as the largest mercury Shivling. Efforts are now underway to have it registered in the Guinness World Records as well.
Construction of the Shivling began in 2021. A team of specialized artisans and scholars worked diligently over a long period to craft it. After years of work, this massive Shivling was completed and has now been installed at Shri Sai Shiv Ganga Dham.

The Dham’s management states that the Shivling was installed with the aim of promoting human welfare, world peace, and the preservation of Sanatan culture. They believe that this site could become a major center of faith for devotees from both India and abroad in the future.
During the consecration ceremony, several prominent saints and religious leaders shared their thoughts, describing the Shivling as a significant symbol of Sanatan tradition and spiritual heritage. The saints noted that Haridwar is already a world-renowned religious city, and the addition of this new spiritual center would further strengthen its identity.
Lakhs of Shiva devotees are expected to arrive in Haridwar during the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, giving a vast number of pilgrims the opportunity to view this massive mercury Shivling. From both religious and spiritual perspectives, this installation is considered a significant achievement for Haridwar.
