Delhi: The NEET-UG re-examination is scheduled for June 21. To ensure the exam is conducted securely, fairly, and transparently, the National Testing Agency (NTA) organized a mega mock drill across the country on June 20—the day before the actual test. Through this drill, the NTA is conducting a final check of security arrangements at exam centers, the secure transport of question papers, and other logistical setups; ‘cooling zones’ are also being established at the centers.
This full-scale rehearsal mock drill is being conducted nationwide from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Spanning 11 hours, this security exercise covers over 5,500 exam centers across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. All these locations have been designated as high-security zones.
The NEET-UG re-examination will be held on June 21 from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM in offline (pen-and-paper) mode. The capital has a total of 97 exam centers, all of which participated in today’s mock drill. In West Delhi, the drill began at 11:00 AM at the Shri PM Kendriya Vidyalaya in Naraina.
Due to security considerations, no one was permitted to enter the school premises. A member of the school administration, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that preparations for the mock drill were underway and that materials for setting up cooling zones had been made available within the school complex.
To prevent any irregularities during the exam, the NTA, police, and central agencies are implementing a multi-layered security system. Under this initiative, over 200,000 security personnel have been deployed, and the NTA will have direct access to the CCTV camera feeds from the exam centers.
