On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, PM Modi addressed the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort. In his speech, he spoke extensively about Gen-Z, noting that his government is continuously working for the country’s youth. He also made several major announcements for young people during the event.
He stated that meritorious students from the country’s small towns and villages would no longer have to abandon their studies due to expensive coaching fees. He mentioned that the central government is establishing a network—comprising both digital and on-ground components—to provide students preparing for competitive exams with free access to top-tier faculty and study materials. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Saturday that ten million (one crore) young people would be trained in Artificial Intelligence (AI) skill-building courses.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of technological development in the country, a key element of his ‘Saptadhara’ (seven streams of power) vision. He made this announcement while addressing the nation on the 80th Independence Day. He was referring to the significant ‘India AI Impact Summit’ held in February of this year. PM Modi stated that the government is revamping civil defense with modern training and enhanced capabilities to tackle evolving security challenges. He also announced the launch of a nationwide sports talent hunt to identify and nurture children aged 5 to 15 in both rural and urban areas.
Speaking from the ramparts of the Red Fort, PM Modi declared, “Today, I announce from the Red Fort that in the coming days, we will build a robust civil defense network. We will familiarize them with modern systems. What measures can be taken to protect citizens from contemporary crises? We are going to create a massive, modern civil defense volunteer force capable of facing today’s challenges.”
